Tips & tricks

Once disburse is connected to Claude, ChatGPT or another agent, you talk to it in plain English and it decides which tools to call. This page is what regular users have found gets the best answers fastest.

New here? Connect Claude takes about two minutes.

What to ask for

Free form. Describe the people you want and let the agent work out the filters.

"Get me emails for 1,000 founders of cleaning companies in Melbourne with under 50 staff"

Account based. Give it a list of companies and the roles you want at each. One call covers the whole list, so paste all of them at once rather than asking company by company.

"Get me the heads of HR at these 40 companies"

A specific person. Name them and where they work.

"Find Jane Doe at Acme's email and mobile"

Look-a-like. Give it a company or a person to match and say which attributes matter, because that is what it matches on: industry, size, location, seniority, specialties.

"Get me 25 CEO emails at companies like Canva: software, Australian, 500 to 5,000 staff"

"Find 5 people like this one, same seniority and industry: linkedin.com/in/..."

Naming the attributes is what makes this work well. Left vague, "similar" can drift, and you may get a coordinator whose title happens to contain the word "founder".

Research, then find. The agent can use its own web search first and disburse second.

"Search the web for the 2026 Master Builders Award winners in Australia, then use disburse to find each winner's CEO or owner email"

When the results aren't what you expected

Ask why. The agent knows what it searched for and what the engine changed.

"Why did you include Acme?"

Every response carries how your words were read and anything that was widened or dropped, so the answer is real rather than a guess.

Say you expected more. If a list looks short, say so.

"There should be more than that"

Each list reports why it stopped: the pool ran out, the strict bar excluded rows, or a filter was narrower than you meant. The agent will tell you which and offer a way to widen it.

Say if it is too broad. "Only people with the exact title Head of Sales" or "only companies in this industry, nothing adjacent" both work.

Be specific

The more of these you say, the better the answer:

  • Exactly what you want, if only an exact title, company or segment will do. Otherwise say broader matches are fine.
  • Contactability, if you only want people with an email, or with a mobile. Rows without them are free, but they still take up your list.
  • How many. "Give me 200" gets you 200 in one call, deduplicated and quality-labelled. Vague asks get a page of ten.

Getting a CSV

Just ask for one.

"Get me 25 emails for engineering managers in Perth in a CSV"

For everything we hold on each row, say so:

"...in a CSV, include all available people and company fields"

Above 500 rows the same request becomes a server-side export automatically and the agent polls it for you, up to 25,000 rows.

What we know about each record

We hold 70+ data points on a contact and their company: contact details and verification status, seniority and function, tenure, education and skills, plus the employer's industry, size, revenue, funding, tech stack, hiring signals and headcount by function.

Lists return the ~20 an outreach list needs by default. Ask for more when you want it. To see the full set:

"What contact and company fields does disburse have?"

The agent can list them, and you can then ask for exactly the ones you want.
